Privacy Policy — Mi Fhìn is Mo Shaoghal

This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Mi Fhìn is Mo Shaoghal mobile application ("the app"), published by NO-MAD PATHWAYS LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Scotland.
The short version
The app is designed to keep your information on your own device. We do not operate accounts, we do not have a server that stores your planner entries, and we cannot read what you write in the app. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for any personal data we do hold. In practice, this is limited to correspondence you send us and the small amount of information described in sections 4 and 5 below.
2. What you create in the app
The app allows you to record planner entries, notes, mood selections and personal journal reflections.
This content is stored locally on your device, inside the app’s own storage area. It is not transmitted to us and it is not uploaded to any server we control. We have no technical means of accessing it.
Two things follow from this that you should be aware of:
• If you delete the app, this content is deleted with it. There is no copy held elsewhere that we can restore for you.
• If you have device backups switched on (iCloud on Apple devices, or Google’s backup service on Android), your app data may be included in those backups. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies and terms, not ours.
Because journal and mood entries can be personal in nature, we would encourage you to use your device’s own passcode, Face ID or fingerprint lock, which protects app data at the device level.
3. Accounts and registration
The app does not require you to create an account, register, or provide a name, email address or telephone number in order to use it.
4. Broadcast schedule information
The app can display programme schedules for BBC Radio nan Gàidheal and BBC Alba. When it retrieves this information, your device makes a request to the BBC’s servers. As with any internet request, the BBC will receive standard technical information such as your device’s IP address. This is governed by the BBC’s own privacy policy, which we do not control.
We do not receive any information about which programmes you look at.
5. Information collected automatically
We do not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics software in the app.
Apple and Google collect their own aggregate statistics about app downloads and usage, and may pass anonymised summaries to us as the publisher — for example, the number of installations in a given country. This information does not identify individual users.
Crash reports: if a crash-reporting service is enabled, diagnostic information about the failure (device model, operating system version, and technical details of the error) may be sent to us or to Apple. This does not include the content of your planner or journal entries. On Apple devices you can control this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
6. Beta testing
If you are using a pre-release version of the app through TestFlight, Apple will share your name and email address with us as the developer, along with information about your testing sessions and any feedback or screenshots you choose to submit. This is covered by Apple’s TestFlight terms. We use it only to manage the testing programme and will delete it when testing ends.
7. Children
The app is a general-audience planner and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Given that all content stays on the user’s own device, we hold no such data in any case.
8. Legal basis for processing
Where we do process personal data — chiefly correspondence you send us, and beta testing administration — our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is legitimate interests: responding to enquiries and running our testing programme. Where you have given consent, for example by opting in to share diagnostic data, consent is the basis and you may withdraw it at any time.
9. How long we keep information
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Beta testing records are deleted at the end of the relevant testing period. Content you create in the app is kept on your device for as long as you choose to keep it.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
11. Transfers outside the UK
Apple and Google, whose platforms are used to distribute the app, process some information outside the United Kingdom. Those transfers take place under their own safeguards and privacy frameworks.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will note it here and, where appropriate, within the app.
